FRIDAY NIGHTS AT BALBOA PARK
Friday, August 31st at Balboa Park

With blooming flowers, extended museum hours, evening concerts, summer camps, food trucks, and more, summer Friday nights are EVERYTHING in Balboa Park. Food Truck Friday kicks off at 4pm with live music and more than a dozen food trucks! A number of the museums have extended hours -- including the Fleet Science Center where you can catch an IMAX film, San Diego Natural History Museum hosts "Nat at Night" with a rooftop bar & trivia that starts at 7pm, plus catch extended hours at San Diego Museum of Art, Japanese Friendship Garden, Spanish Village Art Center, and San Diego Museum of Man. DEL MAR RACES
DAILY: Friday, August 31st through Monday, September 3rd

This weekend is the closing weekend of the summer season at the Del Mar Racetrack! Gates open daily at 12:00pm, with the first post at 2:00pm, with the exception of Friday, when the gates open at 1:30pm, with the first post at 3:30pm. Admission to the race track starts at only $6.
 

US SAND SCULPTING CHALLENGE & DIMENSIONAL ART EXPO
Friday, August 31st through Monday, September 3rd
DAILY: 9:00am - 5:00pm, open til 7:00pm on Saturday & Sunday

300 tons of sand will be dumped on the Broadway Pier this weekend for the Sand Sculpting Challege, a 4-day event! Master Sand Sculptors will travel from around the world to participate in this amazing event. Bring the family and check out the amazing works of art! Get tickets.


JULIAN GRAPE STOMP FESTA
Saturday, September 1st from 11am - 6pm

Experience the old-world tradition of kicking off your shoes and letting grapces squish beneath your feet! The 22nd anniversary Julian Grape Stomp Festa is this Saturday at the Menghini Winery. Ten local winiers will be offering samples, plus there will be food, shopping, bocce ball court, and more. Get tickets.


NIGHTTIME ZOO
Daily through Monday, September 3rd

Celebrate summer with extended summer hours at the San Diego Zoo. This weekend is the final days of this year's Nighttime Zoo longer hours. Visit the zoo for special summer events, including live music, fun shows, and special animal enounters!
