Yelp Organizes San Diego Eateries To Feed 500 Furloughed Federal Workers
Five-Hundred furloughed federal employees will be able to take advantage of free meals this week.
The event is organized by the online reviews site Yelp and will take place at the San Diego Air & Space Museum in Balboa Park on Wednesday, January 23 from 12:00pm to 2:30pm.
In Yelp's event description, the company states, "We're now in the midst of the longest government shutdown in American history. There's no sign of this thing ending anytime soon, so in the wake of all the mess we've decided to gather some extremely generous local businesses together with hopes that a free meal might help 500 of you that are in need at the moment."
Some of the participating restaurants include:
- Cali Comfort BBQ
- Lucha Libre Taco Shop
- Simsim Outstanding Shawarma
- Donut Bar
- El Pollo Grill
- Valley Farm Market
- The Pioneer

- Coop's West Texas BBQ
- The Waterfront Bar & Grill
- Grand Ol BBQ Y Asado
To take part in Yelp's "Free Lunch for Federal Workers," you'll need to RSVP on this site and make sure to bring your government ID with you when you attend.
