Dorothy's Wedding Wednesday: Cake Tasting Part II at Twigg's

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect cake!

March 21, 2018

115 days until the wedding!

Last week Steven and I went cake tasting at V.G. Donut and Bakery, and this week we tried Twigg's Bakery and Cafe in Normal Heights!

The cakes at Twigg's were SOOOOOOO good! There were 3 flavors that stood out to us: Victorian Wedding Cake, Passionfruit, and Mexican Chocolate. The Victorian wedding cake was a white cake made with rose water, with raspberry cream on the inside. I know it sounds weird to have rose water in your cake but it was such a surprising flavor! It balanced out the sweetness of the raspberry cream perfectly. Passionfruit was a light, fresh cake that would be perfect for a summer wedding, and the Mexican chocolate cake had the traditional sweetness of a chocolate cake, but finished with the slightest hint of spice.

Steven really like the cake's at Twigg's, but I think I prefer the cake over at V.G.'s. It looks like this might be our first "wedding fight." LOL
