D'oh! I can't believe this happened two weeks after our wedding...

Ugghhhhhh, it's been 2.5 weeks since our big wedding, and I'm a bad wife!

Steven's family is in town, and yesterday after work I met up with them to go stand up paddle boarding at the bay. His mom, brother, nieces, and nephew and I had a great time paddling around Mission Bay. We saw the the harbor seals lounging on the docks, we had paddleboard races, we rode an aqua bike, and kayaked. The cold bay water felt so nice!!

While I was paddling, I realized I didn't have my engagment ring and wedding band on, but I said to myself, "It's probably at home in my ring dish."  (I take it off when applying sunblock to my face every morning). So I wasn't stressing... we were having a great day and I was sure my ring was safe at home.

It wasn't until this morning when I got up to get ready for work that I realized my rings were not sitting in my ring dish! I immediately freaked out and retraced every step I took in my head. I called my mother-in-law and asked if she saw it around her house. I applie sunblock on his nieces, and I remembered the sunblock being really oily, so maybe I took it off there? But, I also applied more sunblock at the paddleboard rental place. Maybe I took it off there?!? Maybe the cat swatted it down the bathroom drain? She does love to swat things off the counter.... I thought of every possibility and looked in every nook and cranny of my bathroom and house.

I tore my house apart this morning. I freaked out, cried, and prayed that it would turn up. Meanwhile, Steven's family went into full on search team mode at his mom's house. They also drove out to the paddleboard rental office to see if it was there. Then at 9a, I get a text from my father-in-law & sister-in-law saying they found it!!! It was in one of the bedrooms. Phew!! Turns out, I did take it off and leave it in the room while putting sunblock on the girls. Thank God!!!!

Through my entire freak out Steven was really calm about it, which I am so grateful for. I think I would've lost it even more if he wasn't calm, but little did I know that as soon as he got into his car, he called his mom and freaked out himself LOL.

I can't believe I lost my ring 2 weeks into it. I for sure thought that if one of us was going to lose our rings, it'd be Steven first. So Steven, if you're reading this... sorry babe for losing my rings, and sorry for thinking you'd lose yours first! LOL
