Armored truck's cash rains down on Atlanta highway, drivers grab and flee

July 11, 2019

How does this even happen?

Drivers on Atlanta's busy perimeter highway were bombarded by flying money after a door swung open on an armored truck.

The cash came raining down and prompted a dozen or more drivers to pull over on I-285 near Ashford-Dunwoody Road.

Naturally, there were a handlful of social posts about it, showing people spilling out of their cars to scoop up the bills in traffic lanes. Amazingly, no one was hurt. By the time police arrived, the opportunists had driven off with the dough.

Dunwoody Police are investigating to see how much is missing with police saying that fleeing with the money is most definately a crime.

Police officials say they're going to need that cash back.

We doubt that's going to happen as most have probably spent it by now!
