KyXy’s Kritter of the Week is brought to you by Nicholas Adamo from Farmers Insurance in partnership with the Rancho Coastal Humane Society.
Each week will highlight a new pet available for adoption from the Rancho Coastal Humane Society and the animal will be featured on this page! We want our wonderful KyXy listeners to adopt every featured pet or find them a great home!
Our amazing partner, Rancho Coastal Humane Society was formed in 1961 and is dedicated to the shelter and rescue of dogs, cats and other animals in need. They seek to educate the public about proper pet care and to provide adoption services for those seeking orphaned pets.
Rancho Coastal Humane Society also offers various services to the community including the following important programs:
- The Animal Safehouse Program provides support to domestic violence shelters which are unable to accept pets. Rancho Coastal provides temporary shelter for the pets of victims of domestic violence, allowing battered individuals to escape abuse and seek safety. They also provide assistance for the pets of veterans, active duty military, seniors, families in crisis, people dealing with PTSD, and anybody with a need for temporary (or permanent) care for their pets.
- The Community Pet Food Bank provides food and other supplies for the pets of senior citizens, families that are working poor, people with disabilities or terminal illnesses, veterans, and members of the homeless community.
- The Military Working Dog Memorial is the only private memorial of its kind west of the Mississippi river. The MWD memorial pays tribute to those who stood in harm’s way…on two feet or four paws.
For more information on these and other programs visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, call 760-753-6413, or log on to www.sdpets.org.
