As many of you probably know Hamilton the Musical is one of the most popular Broadway shows of all time.
My daughter Alexis has been obsessed with it for three years. She talks about it all the time and it has inspired a dream of performing on Broadway. When I write that she talks about it all the time, it’s because she does!
When she found out they were touring and coming here she saved her money to help us buy the tickets. Individual tickets were expensive and hard to come by, so we had to do the season pass to ensure we were getting tickets to the show.
Well, yesterday was the day or as my daughter put it, “HAMILTON DAY!”
We went early so she could take pictures and buy some items. I have to say, I was impressed with the show, and can understand the craziness that surrounds it. Hamilton moves along at a great pace and the singing was incredible.
Though the show was amazing, I have to say, my favorite part was watching my daughter’s reactions. Alexis smiled the whole time and cried at parts. When it was over, she turned to me and said, “it was even better than I imagined!”
After, I took her to the stage door hoping to get autographs and pictures. We didn’t have to wait too long before the cast came out. They were wonderful, taking pictures and giving autographs. Surely, a great way to end the night for my daughter.
Yes, people are paying amazing amounts of money to see the show, and if it weren’t for the season pass option, my daughter probably would have never been able to go.
We always would joke about her obsession with Hamilton, but know that I have seen it, and see how much she truly loves it, I can understand.
She’s a teenager and if that is what she into I am happy with that.
