A shooting during country artist Jason Aldean’s performance at the Route 91 Harvest Country Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sunday night that left more than 58 people dead and 515 injured, making it the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Jason Aldean was performing near the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino around 10:08 p.m. local time when shots were fired.
The suspected shooter, 64-year-old Stephen Paddock of Mesquite, Nevada, was killed by self inflicted gun shot wound when a Las Vegas SWAT team burst into the hotel room where they believe he had been firing upon the crowd.
Paddock had checked himself into a room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino on September 28 with multiple firearms, which were found in his room.
