Kmart will no longer carry “plus-size” clothing, instead they will cater to “fabulously-sized” shoppers. The move from “plus-size” to “fabulously-sized” is a rebranding move meant to reinforce positive body image.

In addition to switching out the “plus-size” labeling around their stores, Kmart has pledged to carry a wider size variety of women’s clothing.

In 2017 the average American woman wears a size 16-18, and there is a trend amongst designers and labels to make fashion more inclusive of curvy women.
