Sinead O’ Conner Cries, Pleads For Family To Come Get Her in Facebook Live Video Detailing Mental Illness

Sinead O’ Conner’s Facebook live video, posted August 3, is a plea for help. In the 12-minute long video the singer sits on the edge of a bed, in a motel room crying.

“I hope this is somehow helpful,” she starts, “I know I’m only one of millions of millions of people in the world that are just like me, actually, that don’t have, necessarily the resources that I have in my heart or my purse, for that matter.”

The singer goes on to detail her life at the moment, saying that she is living in a “Travel Lodge motel in the arse end of New Jersey” and that she is all by herself, in her life, with the exception of a doctor and a psychiatrist.

“I’m fighting, fighting, fighting, fighting like all the millions and millions that I know… to stay alive everyday, which I’m doing because I love the people that are doing this to me. I’m not staying alive for me. For me, If it was me I’d be gone, straight away back to my mom.”

Through tears O’ Conner pleads for any man she knows, who cares about her to come and get her. She laments being alone, and speaks about the stigma of mental illness and how it has alienated her from the people in her life.

“And I give so much love in my life and I just can’t understand how a person can be left alone and I want everyone to see what it’s like, that’s why I’m making this video.”

The singer later posted to Facebook the address of the Travel Lodge where she said she was staying.

The video was viewed more than 1,157,238 times and shared more than 7,000 times, sparking concern amongst the singer’s fans. The comments section below the video filled rapidly with followers, friends, and acquaintances offering help, and even to go get O’ Conner from the motel where she was staying.

Earlier today, August 8, an unknown person posting from O’ Conner’s account updated fans with news that the singer was safe, “She is surrounded by love and receiving the best of care.”
