There’s been a lot of hand-wringing about the sequel to Blade Runner. The early 80’s neo-noir, sci-fi flick has a well earned cult following of rabid fans, who are less anxious to hurtle back into the apocalyptic future as they are about preserving cinema gold.
That being said, the teaser trailer for Blade Runner 2049 doesn’t suck. It doesn’t give up much in the way of plot, but it stays true to the atmosphere of gorgeous gloom that pervaded the first film.
The sequel, which occurs 30 years after the events of the first film, has Harrison Ford reprising his role as Rick Deckard – a good sign- with Ryan Gosling appearing through a toxic orange mist as Deckard’s apparent torch bearer.
