Catching-Up With Little Tommy

It’s GREAT to be back! While I’ve been quiet on the airwaves over the last 17 months, I definitely haven’t been bored.
Finish Chelsea’s Run
Two of the most impacting events in my life, and indeed the whole of San Diego County, were the tragic deaths of Chelsea King and Amber Dubois. 3,500 people Finished Chelsea’s Run at Lake Hodges on March 20, 2010. This year, Finish Chelsea’s Run 5K race takes place in Balboa Park on Saturday March 5th. Chelsea’s spirit inspires me everyday of my life and I have the honor of hosting this event in its second year. Click here to sign up: www.chelseaslight.org
Here’s the video from last years event that I hosted with Jeff.

Nana’s Wish
My sister Lola also founded an organization called Nana’s Wish. In honor of our Mom, this program helps the elderly and children of San Diego. Click here to learn more.
Breaking and Entering 2010
Although, we have been off for 17 months, we still did Breaking and Entering Christmas in 2009 and 2010. Click here to see what happened.
Prescription Drug Problem Awareness
One of the creative achievements I’m most proud of over the last year came about after I met a woman named Karin Murphy on July 8th. She opened her home for a presentation by Sheriff Sgt. Dave Ross and Deputy DA Matt Williams to raise awareness of the growing prescription drug problem in our schools. From this, I co-produced a primetime TV special that aired on KUSI on November 19th. Click here to watch the show. Please watch this with your children. Karin Murphy and Sherrie Rubin, along with many other mom’s that know far too well about this problem, have inspired me with their stories and their dedication to educate and prevent prescription drug abuse.
I was on the front frickin’ page of the San Diego Union-Tribune back in July! Click here to see that!

Missed you all so much. I tuned in yesterday and then got caught up talking to my teenager this morning and missed your speech at 7:30 a.m. Is there a transcript of what you said? Or can I hear it on Utube or something? Welcome Back. One of the 11 listeners…

Hi Tommy, I have been one of your 11 listeners since B-100 days. I have grown a lot with you over the last 25 yrs or so. I wanted to ask you if you or all of you would like to help us out for a golf tournament on Feb 21st. I know you must be crazy busy with all the promotions you have going on but we are really looking for a fun MC and we think you would be awesome!!!! I would be willing to pay for your golf and dinner if you wanted to participate in that part of the day. Please let me know as soon as possible. Either way thank you for all the fun years of joy and entertainment…. Thanks again Judy:)

Thanks for your show in November about prescription drug abuse. I watched that show and it was great. I, unfortunately, am the parent of a son who got addicted first to Oxy and then to Heroin. Thankfully he was arrested and got through the initial withdrawals in jail. He is now in a drug court program where he is drug tested all the time. He is living with me currently, and I can only pray that he doesn’t fall back into this when drug court is over! Thank you for getting the word out. It is so prevelant!
